MIA and hot pink nails

So, I was at a scientific conference for the last week and did not get a chance to blog so here I am trying to make up for lost time. :) But not really trying that hard, here is my fav. hot pink, it's by Finger Paints and its called Art you Kidding me? Such an awesome color, really brightens my day!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Day 7! Halfway there!

Greetings all, it is Saturday and I am now halfway through my little experiment, so excited!

My nails are definitely longer than they have ever been and I did some yard work this week and they didn't break and tear! :-) I'm really happy with it so far. (Apart from my minor mishap on day 5. :-/

This is after I removed all of the product as it says to on the instructions and I cleaned them up and applied the cuticle therapy creme, my cuticles are looking stellar compared to day 1!

This is with a softer light and makes my hands look softer but this is really how I see them for most of the day.

I went and got a pedicure and I am so pleased with this color! This is CG's Towel Boy Toy, this is with flash and it just shows you how iridescent shimmery it is! love love love!

Day 6

So, today was day six of trying out this Orly Nailtrition. Yesterday it all peeled off, much like the tough cookie does so I removed whatever was left and started over. Oh well. My nails are looking really good otherwise and they are so strong that my husband is complaining that some of them feel like daggers!
Not much to see really but you can tell that I re-shaped my nails. Oh, and pedicure tomorrow, so stoked for that! It was gonna be today but the tech was not feeling great so I rescheduled.

The rest of this experiment better go fast cause I'm super bored with these "natural" nails!

Day Three

So, no pics today, we don't have any sunshine and its rainy. :-/

I filed my nails last night with my glass file I bought at Sephora for $7 in store, looks like $8 on-line
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P12207&categoryId=S3100&shouldPaginate=true

I didn't file too much, just enough to get the ragged edges off. :-) On another note, my friend and I decided that we wold get pedicures instead of manicures, that way I can continue this little at-home experiment! I have to admit, this is by far the best Orly "polish" I have ever used, especially nice after trying Tough Cookie, Orly...for shame! The application of this is just dreamy, easy, smooth, iridescent and I swear if it wasn't for Orly's wonderful rubberized cap I wouldn't even bother with the polishes but I just keep trying them out.

I also just bought China Glaze Pool Boy Toy, totally excited to use that, I was lusting over OPI Ogre the Top Blue but I settled on China Glaze Pool Boy Toy, we'll see, I may end up getting Ogre the Top anyhow.

I had better get back to preparing for the ASM meeting in San Diego that is in a couple of weeks.

Day 2 of Nailtrition

I struggle so bad with nail biting and I caught myself several times today with my nails in my mouth, it must be the stress, I'm either biting my nails or tearing my cuticles! Good news is that I didn't actually bite them, just put them in between my teeth and bent them around  little. Yuck!

My friend and I are going to the day spa this Friday and we are probably going to get manicures so I guess I will just have to re-start my nail treatment after I get my nails done?

Tattered Nails and Nailtrition

So, this is my first attempt at blogging and I hate to start on a flop but alas...
These are my nails before any treatment, Notice the ragged edges on my poor thumb and middle finger (I just finished another semester at school)

So, I was looking around Sally Beauty and I saw this new Orly stuff and I've pretty much tried it all so I thought, "I might as well try something else!"
It came with a small container of Cuticle treatment stuff to use with it
The directions are simple, apply 1-2 coats per day for a week and then remove and start over for another week doing 1-2 coats per day, easy enough? And it says for best results use with the cuticle therapy creme daily so I will be applying that as well every night.
It has a slight pinkish shimmer in the bottle and after you apply it to your nails, I just hope the shimmer is enough to keep me not bored with my nails for two weeks!

So, day one down, I'll keep you all posted and let you know my final verdict.
