When Life Gives you Lemons, Make Cuticle Cream!

Hi hi everyone, my nails are still very short and silly looking but I painted them with China Glaze Ingrid and I like it, so I will take photos later tonight and hopefully post so one and all can see?

Here is my next dillemma: CUTICLES Right now, I am using Orly Cuticle Therapy Creme and it is ok, I like the old lady smell that it has but I think I need something that is a little 'stronger' at moisturizing 'cause my hands and cuticles are dry, especially with winter around the corner here.

What do you think? Should I switch to Lemony Flutter?

I love Lush stuff so I think I would like it, but is it worth the money?

The Ugly Truth of Nakedness

Today you will find me and my nails on the edge of total collapse! Well, only my nails...but for real's peeps, check this out:

I was almost too terrified to put this up, it is seriously tragic. =/

I have on a coat of Seche Rebuild (which I'm sure will give me cancer someday) and I just removed some false nails. Now, the falsies in and of themselves do not do this to my nails...my bad anxious habits of ripping and nibbling do...for shame, Mrs. Aggie!

I am at a loss, what should I do?
Put on another bunch of falsies and ignore what is underneath?
treat, and if so with what?
just use some ridge filler and paint away?

I just bought some of China Glaze's Vintage Vixen Collection too! =P

I really am losing my marbles!

Fingers taped off
Today I have another water marble, but this time I took lots of pics through the whole process so you will see how I do it. But really, I learned from the best...My Simple Little Pleasures and her awesome website!

This is Essie Fishnet Stockings and I am holding my little leftover chunk of Honey I washed the kids soap. lol.

I made a bullseye in room temperature distilled water with Essie Fishnet Stockings, Zoya Goldie and Sally Hansen White-On

Then I messed with the polish a bit to make a design, not the best but not a disaster either!

then you dip

...and look at how cool it all looks!

All cleaned up.

This last one is a picture of my helper, Peter. He always helps me paint my nails, it's annoying how cats like to be in between you and whatever you are doing, but I still love him, especially 'cause he can't see due to a birth defect in his eye and removal of the other because of an even worse defect. Peter is our first-born son and is definitely the brat-prince! =)

I am going camping tonight so I will not be around for a couple of days but I will be sure to read and respond to comments when I return!

A Canadian Sort of Affair and a face to the name!

So, A little while ago there was a girl in Canada who had never had the opportunity to try China Glaze, Orly...many good nail polishes and she wanted to do a swap. I answered her plea and got her some things that she had been wanting but she did not have any nail polishes that I couldn't get just as easily for myself but she lives close to a Lush store and some Konad plates! I jumped all over the opportunity to get a large amount of my favorite soap instead of nail polish so that is exactly what she got me! Thank you so much, Nail Junkie!!!

this is my very first real Konad plate m57. It is much thicker than the bundle monster plates and I'm pretty excited to use the leopard print!

This is Honey I washed the Kids Soap! my previous sliver is in front and that is one huge chunk of yummy soap! This soap lathers great, smells fantastic and doesn't leave my sensitive skin any worse for the wear!

And this is me attempting to eat this soap, not really, but it smells so divinely of vanilla and caramel!

And as a bonus you get a face to my name! =)

Lemons, Limes and Salt

So, today I have for you Orly Lemonade. It is something that I was not interested in 'til I did a swap with my friend at Nail Junkie and she wanted it so I went and got it for her. As soon as I had this in my possession I swiped it over a couple of nails and fell in love!
I didn't have any lemonade but I did have limeade, I use this frozen concentrate to make margaritas!!! =) yummy!

This is such a pretty color, I love it and I think it is a great color to wear in the hot summer months.

The Birds and the Bees

I would like to thank all of those who support the end to animal testing in cosmetics. While they don't use cute little bunnies very much anymore, they do happen to use mice still and when I took a toxicology course I learned that most human health/safety is tested on turkeys, who would have thunk?
To celebrate the summer and the glorious warm days with blue skies...and to fulfill another entry to PHD's weekly challenge, this week being nature inspired...this was one of my nail art designs, I had a lot of fun with this one!

This is hummingbirds and various flowers, I made the humming birds different colors!

This guy I made with Zoya Charla and the other one was Zoya Ivanka.

This was really fun to do and I liked the bees the best!

This was my favorite nail, I just think the bee is super cute, even though I am allergic to their stings!

Hope all of you are enjoying the bright sunny warm/hot summer days cause I know I am!

All tarted out!

Yes, I said tart, as in the European version of a street walker. =) Anyhow, I was eluding to the fact that I am way behind and I am wearing Essie's Tart Deco today.

This is such a pretty color and I hope it kills my desire to get Haute as Hello! Since Essie was bought out by L'OREAL I can't bring myself to buy anymore of their polishes 'cause L'OREAL still does animal testing. They use the ears of mice to do allergy testing and then they euthanize them and dissect them, sad.

I work with bacteria because I can't hear them scream or squeal when I kill them, nor can I see their terrified faces, mostly because they are microscopic and don't have faces.
Ever since I saw someone in my building walking around with a dead white rat in a baggie (they do animal testing in the building I work in) I have been opposed to animal testing very strongly!

What are your thoughts on cosmetics brands that still use animal testing? Is it ok? Is it wrong? Do you care?
