Rainbow/Pide-tastic + CotD

So, in honor of one of my absolutely best friend's coming-out of the closet I decided to do my nails in a rainbow!

here are the colors:

from left to right: Art you Kidding Me, Micheltangelo, Solar Power, Tree Hugger and Towel Boy Toy.

I love all these colors together! and then I also added some Bundle Monster.
the black is Wet n' Wild Black Creme and the tips are Orly Goth

So that's my celebratory nails, hope you like them.

And bonus cause he's just so cute...Cat of the Day (CotD)
This is Peter and he only has one eye--the other we had to remove when he was two months old and the one eye he has left he can't see out of very well.

Ciao

My Nails are Suffering

Since I have had one accident after another with my hands this past week I am going to show you a mani from last week! =)

I did this for Polish Hoarder Disorder's Challenge for Analogous Nails.

It was fun to do. I used Finger Paints Tangerine Tint, Orly Terra Cotta and Essie Red Noveau!

If you look a little closer you can also see some little red stars in there too, I used a Bundle Monster plate and a small red polish that was shimmery from Sally's Girl.

Well, that's it for today, I will try to stop whining about things and I am considering trying some press on nails to help me not have man-hands for the next couple of weeks, what do you think?

Add Some Tang to Your Life! +DotD

So, yesterday was hit or miss for me so today I have a much brighter cheerier polish to show and so far I'm still going out on the lake tomorrow so I hope it all keeps going according to plan. (I speak, of course, of pretty much the only lake in my state, Great Salt Lake)

I think it will be really nice and pleasant out on the boat so I will probably put on my favorite glitter right now, I'll show you later! ;-)

For now, enjoy a new addition to the collection, Tangerine Tint from Finger Paints.

this was 2 coats and it was just a superb application!

I just love these two colors together, my red purse and these nails are so awesome together!

Also, a blogger and lover of lacquer from across the pond has started doing a DotD....Dog of the Day so I thought I would too since my life is nails and my pets!  Check out her blog if you haven't yet...http://nailpolishuk.blogspot.com/  Jenni-fur, I hope you don't mind me borrowing your idea! =)

Have a wonderful day everyone!

What do you think about orange as a polish color? My husband loves it but I'm not totally sold, although it is fun!

Waiting and Bored

So, I am so frustrated with my work, long story short...my trip to go out on the boat to collect samples has been canceled due to weather and equipment problems all week long and I keep waiting thinking I'm going out tomorrow, all week long!!!! It started last Friday when I was originally supposed to go out on the lake but I digress...

I finally got to try my Essie Red Noveau, the formula on this was so awesome, it almost made me cry it was too perfect! I'd seen a lot of swatches and was really excited, well, my skin tone is just not good with this warm red, so I didn't even take a pic. with just the red. I was so bored with it, too flat for my taste so I was looking through my collection for something to jazz it up and I just got a feeling that I should use China Glaze Sexy Sillouette.

I don't think there is a camera in the world that can capture this color correctly but..
Don't mind the ragged cuticles, I forgot to moisturize before photograph!

This is fun but I just don't know, maybe I just have a really negative attitude today?

I need to put on a bright fun color tonight?

Do you have days where nothing sounds pretty and the color of your nails just doesn't console you the way it usually does? =)

I've lost my marbles!

Well, not really but I took a 'mental health day' from work, meaning that I wasn't sick and I wasn't pretending to be sick, just sick o' workin' =) Anyhow, I tried my first water marble and it came out awesome, I almost can't wait to do another one when I have a little more time!  Blah blah blah...pictures!

And there is VNL!!! horror of horrors, but not for me, I don't care at all! =P

I still need to work on clean up a little but not bad.

I was so pleased with these! I just put a base coat, used Seche Rebuild and then I randomly bullseyed ChG In Awe of Amber, SH Celeb City and SH Emerald City, next time I think I will put a base coat of a complimentary color or something and marble the stuff over it, I was just playing around but I had fun and finally my husband complimented my nails!

Grey? Suede

Here it is, the Revlon Grey Suede. I really really like this and I can't tell you why, maybe it's just nice to have close to my skin color without being a french mani?

It went on very nicely in 3 easy coats and I put a coat of Seche Vite over it to make it really shiny! In some lights it looks greyish but in other light it looks taupe, I just don't know what to think of the color other than I love it for boring days that I can't be distracted by my pretty nails!

Mushrooms anyone?  =) -- makes me want a pizza!

Here it is the next day a little revamped with SH Hidden Treasure over top, so fun.

It's been raining pretty much non-stop for a couple of days so I am struggling with blah feelings and it is transitioning onto my nails... =/

Minty Fresh nails?

So, I have recently taken to the mint green nail fad and so I have Revlon Minty to show today, not my favorite but it's okay and the formula was a bit on the terrible side, it was so watery I left it open for an entire day afterwards to see if I can't concentrate it down a little.

Maybe I painted it a little sloppily or maybe my skin tone is too pale and therefore runs pinkish because of the blood underneath it, it just doesn't seem to fit my skin tone.?

So all this being said, I think I prefer my Sinful Colors Mint Apple to this particular minty green even though Mint Apple is darker and hardly mint at all. :)

Revlon also came out with a dupe? for Playa Del Platinum? *** Edit*** The Polish Insomniac has brought to my attention that this is not a dupe for PdP*** called Gray Suede which I am wearing right now and it's formula was fantastic and it is definitely my mannequin look, I am surprised I like it as much as I do!

Looks Like Somebody has a case of "The Mondays"

This is just a quick post of what I did with some of the new discounted Essies I got last week (I did go back and get the sale price for them). I couldn't decide what to do so I just painted a couple different ones on!
Furthermore, I was trying to save my fingernail with the teabag method and today I was talking with my boss/advisor for almost an hour and it was somewhat confrontational and I ended up being so nervous that I just ripped the broken piece of nail all the way off! BOO! Ah well, more important things to worry about...

Here is what I've been up to as far as my nails are concerned...

Left Hand in Essie Castaway and Lilacism on my index finger

Right hand with Essie Lilacism and Castaway on my middle finger (middle finger now torn to shreds :-/ )

I also took my doggie to the "booty pawlah" today and she got a haircut, so cute!

with a little fluffy kitty in the background and the sorry for the messy porch that she is laying on. :)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

So, here is my submission for Polish Hoarder Disorder Bling Challenge
http://polishhoarderdisorder.blogspot.com/p/current-challenge.html

Keep in mind that Ihave never ever used rhinestones before so this is just a first attempt. :)

I used ChG For Audrey as the base color and a silver glitter striping polish, I'm pretty happy with it for a first try.

On a completely other note, I bought a bunch of nail polishes last night and I was upset to find that upon looking over the receipts I was overcharged at both places I purchased polish, how irritating, I now have to go back tonight and see if i can get my money back that I wrongfully paid!

Have you ever had that happen? Got really excited for the amazing deal that you were getting only to find out that you didn't get the deal at all!?

Money, Honey

So, I was watching the movie Legion last night and I saw this nail design in my head and then couldn't get it out 'til I tried it, don't ya just hate that? So I started with my Ulta silk wrap base and then I used 2 coats of ChG Solar Power, then sponged on ChG Tree Hugger and topped it with 2 coats of Sinful Colors Call You Later, then of course Seche Vite (2 coats, I think) this was fun but way thick and it just started to peel off my nails after doing some lab dishes. LOL, working with nice nails just never works.

So, my internet is being really slow tonight so I think one picture will do it for today but I'm thinking minty green for tomorrow, I don't know why but I jumped on the band wagon after saying that I thought it was overrated and I purchased Sinful Colors Mint Apple and I absolutely adore the color, I seriously can't stop looking at my nails when I'm wearing it!
