Fiercely 4th and OPI.

So, for the 4th of July I copied a fellow blogger http://www.crystalpolish.com/, I told her I would be copying but here we are nevertheless...

I did change it up a bit by doing the french tip at diagonals. The original can be seen at http://www.crystalpolish.com/2010/07/funky-french-friday-4th-of-july-edition.html

And here is one with flash.
I used an old Salley Hansen Salon (square bottle) called Wine Not? for the base and did the french tip in Pure Ice Celestial. For the dots I obviously used a dotting tool and OPI Alpine Snow, this was a really fun 4th mani.

For my NOTD I have on Fiercely Fiona from this spring's OPI Forever After collection and I don't know why but I love this color.

I wanted to make it appear brighter so I layered two coats of it over top of OPI Alpine Snow and I think I achieved the look I wanted.
And just cause it's fun, here it is the day I got it freshly swatched on poor sad nails. =) I actually think this color looks better on short nails and I highly recommend this and the Who the Shrek are You to wear if you have nubbins!

See how much more yellow it appears in direct sun?

I hope you all have a lovely day, especially those of you on the East Coast, out here in the desert it's fun for me to see that I get to share the heat with everyone!

  1. Desert sounds nice right about now--- it's so humid and hot where I live--- I think I could use some dry heat! Fiercely Fiona is such an odd color! I can't tell if it's yellow, or green, or what. I saw it in person and I'm still not sure! It's always fun to see swatches though =)

  2. Dovey! Yes yes, dry heat is so much more tolerable than humid heat but I am enjoying my cooler 75 degree days, we are usually above 100 this time of year. And fiercely fiona is def. yellow and def. green all at the same time! I could live without it though, I just got the minis and it was in the little pack.

  3. Cute polishes :D I absolutely love the mani you did in your profile pic too!

Yes, it doesn't feel gross and waxy like a lot of lipsticks. It's a great find :D

  5. @Angie: I need to try some of that lipstick! and thanks, I also love my rainbow nails!

@Karen: The dotting tool makes my life so much easier!!! I highly recommend one, this is one I got at Sally Beauty supply and it comes with an angled brush on the other end, I find it quite useful
